A compact suv that can handle anything

Hi Scotty. I live and work in New York City. Without disclosing what I do fit a living, let’s say I HAVE TO get to work no matter the weather conditions. I also sometimes have to travel throughout the state, as far as the border of Canada for work. With long drives, comfort has become important to me, thought I don’t necessarily need a luxury vehicle. I currently have a 2013 Kia Soul plus. It’s been a good commuter car. It gets decent gas mileage and I can park that thing in the smallest of spots, but it has its limitations. What vehicle would you recommend that is compact, can handle any weather condition, and would be enjoyable for long drives?

Clarification: Used or new? Also, how many years and miles do you need it to last you?

My current vehicle has 91,000 miles. I’d prefer a new vehicle that will last longer than a decade, but I’m. It opposed to something used.

Clarification: Doing some math, 91,000 miles over 8 years, so you are putting 11,375 average miles a year. You say your next car needs to last > decade (10 years), so you’d be putting 113,750 miles minimum on your next car.

RAV4.

Based on your requirements above and since you need it to last beyond 100,000 miles and out of warranty relatively trouble free, look at a Toyota RAV4, Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-30 (just avoid the higher trim packages which have cylinder deactivation - see brochure), or a Subaru Crosstrek.

You can also consider the new Toyota Yaris Cross as it comes with AWD
