None of them are anything more than a temporary band-aid at best. Scotty likes ATP AT-205 re-seal which can sometimes help with rubber seals. Nothing will stop gasket leaks short of gasket replacement.

Some of them work, but only temporarily.  Oil leaks past seals, and either there is a blockage somewhere forcing the oil out (clogged PCV valve) or the seal is shot.  If it's a front main seal, it's because the harmonic balancer has a groove worn in it and the seal is compromised.  It's really important to fine the source of the leak before throwing parts at the problem.  Sometimes, it's something easy like a valve cover gasket.  Some times, it's not, like a rear main seal.

Do you know where the rear main seal is on a BMW V8 engine? When i have been looking under the car the oil is coming somewhere up like it can be the valve cover gasket

Hello Scotty and moderators, what in your opinions is the best engine oil additive for stopping leaks?
