I have a 2005 Chrysler 300 with a 2.7 Liter V6 Engine. I'm blowing a good amount of white smoke out of the exhaust, engine is not running great, appears to be a blown head gasket. While I change the head gaskets it makes sense to me to clean out the carbon build up on the intake ports, exhaust ports, cylinder head valves etc. Is Soda blasting safe to use on an aluminum cylinder head to clean out carbon deposits? Is there any reason I shouldn't do this?
Thanks much

Walnut blast it with grounded up walnut shells, not a soda blast.

aluminum heads warp easily, so you should get the surface machined flat anyway.
When I got my heads back from the machine shop, they were sparkling clean so I guess it was included in the service.
