2006 Chrysler 300 2.7L
looking to purchase all 4 oxygen sensors but I’m having a hard time distinguishing upstream vs downstream. Based on my make and model, are the 02 sensors interchangeable between banks and positions?

Like a river, exhaust flows from engine to tailpipe.
Upstream = before catalytic converter (sensor used to to adjust your fuel air mixture)
downstream = after catalytic converter (sensor only used to measure catalyst performance)

No, they are not interchangeable. They have different lengths and of course the front sensors are completely different than the rear sensors as the front sensors are actually more complex inside
