P11171 & P11174
I know they're related I just wonder why she decided to change her codes. Haven't pinpointed if it's vacuum leaks (it very well could be.), or oxygen sensors (could be).
Why would the codes change? Does it matter?
Can this imply she's coming up on needing a new fuel pump? She's still fine when I floor it, not maxing out at 40mph only yet.
She's due for a new fuel filter on payday. I wanna ask if that alone could throw those codes but I'm guessing not, and that it's more than that.
There's four oxygen sensors right? Can I get away with replacing the upstream ones only?
I know this is like 7 questions in one, but can you test an oxygen sensor? Sorry it to hit ya'll with it all, but I've never dealt with em before. (Last time her oxygen sensors were replaced, family did it because I was younger. She's all mine now to care for. )
I wanna try Scotty's cigar trick and see what I find. I can blame smoking on auto repair today haha.

Anyway, you can look up what codes mean on obd-codes.com, or in the service manual (charm.li). Always post definitions with your codes when you ask questions here.

problems can get worse, they can be intermittent, ...
In this case the codes all mean the same thing. The only difference is 1171 triggers when you're flooring it.

of course. Fuel starvation can throw all kinds of codes. This is car engines 101. You wanted to start a garage right? You're going to have to learn basic theory first.

of course, but you need a diagnostic tool that will give you the live data. Just search youtube to see how.
But since sensors in both banks are in agreement, reporting the same thing, it's pretty unlikely they both failed.
