Hey Scotty hope all is well. I have a 2014 Lexus IS350 F Sport AWD. Those codes i am getting for Bank 1 and Bank 2 for slow response on both downstream O2 sensors are driving me nuts, car seems to be driving fine but is running rich i think and therefore consuming more gasoline. I did my research, I am also cheap and don't want to bring it to the Lexus mechanic and want to fix it myself. The check engine light comes on and sometimes even disappears by itself. My question is, can i check something else before i go ahead and start replacing the downstream sensors? I watched a video how to do it but i really want your suggestion first. Uncle Google and Chat GPT also say it may be the catalytic converter or exhaust leak. What do you think, any suggestions or tips?
Thank you in advance 🙂
Well definitely check for exhaust leaks. You will hear them if you don't hear them. They're not leaking. Exhaust systems make a lot of noise. You could also have vacuum likes on the intake system which you could check for that using spray carburetor cleaner and when you hit with leak is the engine will start idling weird. That's one way. Because truthfully, those sense is generally don't go bad and if they responding slowly, something is off in the system. You might also try my Bernie friend from Albuquerque's fuel cleaner. It can clean the heck out of the systems and stop that. Just Google ATS fuel cleaner Albuquerque
Thank you sir.
