Hi, my name is Trent and I've been having some issues with my AC not blowing cold air in my 2008 Chevy Colorado LS Regular Cab 2WD.
The message on my DIC says "AC OFF". I've checked the engine and it's not running hot. The fans work, so it's blowing air however it's not cold air.
I've noticed that whenever I would disconnect my battery for a reset, the ac works AMAZING then goes back to warm air, along with that pop-up message after about 15 minutes.
I recently replaced my ECT sensor and I had no problems until 3 days later. I was at a stop light, I accelerated once the light was green and then my AC problems came back.
(I've also had to fill up at the gas station more than I feel I should be recently)
Thank you!!!
Since the AC works for a while after disconnecting the battery it sounds like the problem is electronic rather than mechanical. Still it might be a good idea to hook up a manifold gauge set to check high and low pressures. Other than that a professional-grade bidirectional scan tool is going to be needed to diagnose why the computer is turning off the AC system.
I will look into those two things tomorrow & the next few days and will be back with updates. Thank you!!
