97 Altima MAF connector

Hi Scotty, I own a 97 Nissan Altima 2.4 gasoline with automatic transmission. Car occasionally idles rough especially when cold. But when I wiggle the MAF sensor connector it returns to idle normally. If I keep wiggling it idles rough again and so on. Could the problem be the connector itself? Thanks for your help.

Yes.

Thank you very much.

absolutely, electrical connectors can go bad. They might get moisture or oxidation in them. There can be broken wires or pin fretting. Especially on a 26yo car.

Did you look inside the connectors?  do you see clean shiny metal, or black and green mess?

Thanks for your answers. Yes, I have seen the connector and the plug and they both look clean, perhaps the wires themselves have been damaged. I'll try to find a connector replacement anyway. Thanks again.
