I have a 2009 Honda CR-V , new ac compressor and new power steering pump, I noticed that when the ac goes bad the power steering goes bad ,hard to turn as if there in no power steering at all. It may sound funny or strange but it happened to me .is there any connection between the two or is it a coincidence?
If they're both running off the same fan belt then yes, one can affect the other if making the belt slip due to excessive load or a worn or loose belt.
The belt is new as well.do you think it may be oil pressure switch?
How would the oil pressure switch affect operation of the fan belt?
Even though the belt is new the tensioner could be worn (or not adjusted properly if a manual tensioner). Or, your AC compressor could be drawing too much power and causing a problem.
