Hi Scotty,
my 2015 Nissan rouge transmission went bad at 117,350 miles. I am still paying for my car and total to replace will be $5,000 at the dealer. It is the same amount to almost pay off my car. The exhaust gasket are bad and they recommended replacing the transmission. If I go ahead and change it I’m more afraid of the transmission still going bad due to Nissan bad transmission reputation and the sleazy warranty they will give me on the part. Please some advice.

Refinance the vehicle and get rid of it.

In this crazy used car market, you might get lucky fixing it so that it drives normal again, and then selling it for top dollar..
Check out the prices of similar used Rogues in your area, it should give you a good ballpark estimate.
