AC issue with 2012 Nissan Altima

Hi Scotty,

I have enjoyed your vids on youtube for years now. Thank You!

I have replaced a broken AC compressor(clutch not moving nor engaging) with a remanufactured AC compressor on my wife's 2012 Altima base 4 cylinder engine. (2.5L) After charging the 134a refrigerant my manifold gauges showed 55psi on low and 80 psi on high-end pressure. The clutch on the AC compressor was engaged but no cold air in the cabin. I figured that it was an expansion valve stocked open issue. I replaced the expansion valve, recharged the system, and still no cigar! Still the same pressure of 55 psi on low and 75 psi on high-end. The pressure never went down to 35-40 psi on low and increased to 190-210 on the high end! No cold air but I did not even fill the system since the pressure on the low was getting too high. The AC clutch was moving along with the compressor!

What else could you suggest I do to fix that AC problem?

Thank You

Derek from Tampa, FL

Well one I never used dream manufactured AC compressors I read an article from a mechanic in Florida years ago who tested them and found that one third of them don't even work and most of them had a maximum capacity of 65% efficiency when rebuilt. Either that is the problem or you have a restriction in the system somewhere it doesn't allow it to reach full pressure
