Hi, I have a 2007 Chevy Malibu and when I turn on the AC the car goes dead. Why is this.

Load test your battery and alternator. If they check out, the AC compressor is going out.

The compressor bearing are shot. When you turn on the ac, it loads the engine (via the belt) enough to stall it out. New compressor.
