Hey scotty, I have a 2009 chevy impala ls that i keep in great condition but it's starting to fall apart no matter how much I take care of it so its time to move on. Im looking at a 2016 Camry and a 2015 honda accord that are both 12K with about 120k miles. I want bulletproof reliability that'll last forever with some power, which car is better overall?
Camry all day. More power and better fuel economy across all trims. I also think it looks the best with many combinations even though this is subjective. They also still use naturally aspirated engines in their 4 and 6 cylinder models and you can't get an Accord that isn't N/A. All other things considered, the Camry will last the longest on basic maintenance.
I’d go with the Camry as they are the segment benchmark. If you’re looking at the 2.4L Accord (and not the turbo), they are a close second but Hondas have relatively weak automatic transmissions. They’re both excellent vehicles but the Camry will last the longest.
No matter which car you buy, get it inspected by a reputed mechanic, before you buy it.
I think they would be both fine choices.
With those two models, I sway towards the Accord, only because of aesthetics.
Regardless, I recommend getting the engine with a timing chain, rather than a timing belt. (If I were to guess I think Accord 4 cyl have chains, and 6 cylinder have belts, and Camry have chains, but not 100% certain.)
Why do I say this? I just changed my timing belt on my 1999 Accord, and it was a PITA.
With that said, my 1999 Accord has 270K miles on it, with basic maintenance, so that is saying something about the Accord for longetivy and reliability.
Throughout 2013 2014, the Honda Accord dominated in all other aspects of a car, only being beaten in reliability by the Camry. But in 2015 the Toyota Camry got a refresh and became the favorites of even car journalists. Bulletproof engine and transmission design very practical get the Camry.
honda before they put cvt in them were better. between those 2 camry is better
