2005 Ford freestar actuator clicking randomly.
Usually happens when adjusting or turning on heat or AC. Where is it located and how can I get to it to replace?
Sometimes with turning on the air and sometimes when just turning on the car. The click is coming from the upper dash one the drivers side. How can I get to it and replace the actuator?
Usually you have to dismantle the dash. And on most cars that’s a chore. I am not familiar with the freestar so I am assuming it would be as much of a headache as most other vehicles. Sometimes with an expensive scan tool you can run tests on those systems. It would be worth spending a diagnosis fee to accurately diagnose the problem before you start tearing into the dash. It could be something else causing it to not work correctly. And if you do it yourself label part, Take pictures and document as you go so you can make sure you get it all back together correctly.
The blend door actuators are buried under the dash. There are usually several in modern cars. The part is not relatively expensive, but labor intensive to get to it to replace it.
