I have a 2009 TSX Acura with manual transmission with over 231,000 miles. The EPS (Electronic Power Steering) light came on. The steering wheel feels fine and have not loss of power steering. I checked the fuse and there is no problem with it. Also, I checked on-line that it might be the EPS module that needs to be replaced. But that OEM module is over $1,000. There are cheaper modules on-line but they are used and in unknown condition. I am leery of buying a used part that might fail later. Since I have no loss of power steering should I replace the module? Any information is appreciated. Than you
Steering is a somewhat important feature so this should probably be taken care of before it becomes worse. I would take the car to a good independent mechanic who can do a thorough diagnostic scan with a fancy scan tool to pinpoint the problem. (Stay away from dealers and chain shops.)
