Should I buy a 2010 Acura TL with 166k miles on it for 6995 dollars or is that a bad price? Also I’m wondering about repair costs and maintence cost, for lexuses if they break down they can fix them with Toyota parts is it vica verse with Acura’s?
That sounds like a good price to me. I would try and talk him down towards 6000 ask as many questions as you can about the car and Scotty always recommends having the car inspected by a mechanic you trust and road test the car first. If the mechanic says its good and run and drives well get it. Acura's are just rebadged Hondas so your in good hands if the car checks out and 160k miles is still great for one. Take care of it and it should last to 300k+ miles.
Those Acura’s with the V6 were notorious for losing trannys after 125k miles. If you can get maintenance records see if fluids been changed regularly that would be good. Personally I would walk away from it. Parts are expensive compared to Hondas. 2-3 times more so, just because it’s their luxury brand
I would pass unless the maintenance has been done religiously. In addition to what @Thumpy mentioned, engines in those cars tend to burn oil. Also, keep in mind that being a luxury car, the parts are not cheap.
