[Solved] Acura TSX sudden misfire and power loss. Showing emissions code P0102

Hey Scotty!

2011 Acura TSX 2.4L A/T 83k

Felt a sudden misfire while sitting at stoplight, then what felt like a "limp home" mode.  misfiring, power loss and would not rev above 3k RPM

Check engine light is on, and nav screen shows emission code P0102

Gauges are also displaying a VSA fault.  Seems odd for emission/VSA faults at same time?

-Tried unplugging MAF to bypass.  No change.

-Plugs/coils all original, perhaps needs tuneup?

This is the first "issue" I've ever had with the car.  Everything else just scheduled maintenance/service.  A real testament to your "made in Japan" belief.

Grateful to Scotty & community for always being so helpful.  Thank you!

Well you want to fix the code first. Sometimes it's as dumb as a dirty air filter or the mass airflow sensor is carboned up or has gone bad. Once that trip codes the computers can do weird things to try to compensate. So I would fix that code first and pray you don't have a problem with the variable valve system cuz that cost a fortune to fix

THANK YOU Scotty. What a Mensch!
