I’m looking for some advice on the best full size truck to buy for the high mileage I travel. I put on around 45,000 miles a year and am looking for something that will last me at least 7 years/300,000 miles. I currently have a 2012 Ram 1500 which just died with 211,000 miles. Would an F150 with a V8 be good or should I be looking at an F250 diesel or something similar? I drive mostly highway miles occasional heavy loads and travel trailer towing.
Hey Steven, if you are looking for a half-ton truck I would definitely recommend the Toyota Tundra because it would last the longest, however, a ford f150 with a v8 would not be a bad choice either. Also, the Ram trucks have gotten a lot better over the years, although they are not up to snuff with the Toyota they are more luxurious and have a better ride, especially with the air suspension. If you are looking for a heavy-duty truck, I would recommend Ford, Ram, and, GM with diesel engines.
