Hello, tomorrow I'm going to check an engine of a 2006 automatic Ford Focus, the thing is that the vehicle haves a short and is not possible to start it up at the time, also the owner haven't fixed it since some time, so I need some recommendations or any advice for what to look or do in the engine before trying to make an offer for the vehicle, my intentions are to get the car cheap and try to repair it as a project car, but being sure that the engine is good for a long time and is not broken. Thank you all in advance 🙂
PSD: The owner told me that the engine and transmission are completely fine so, how can I prove that?

Don’t waste your time with cars that don’t start

If it won't run it's a parts car, or scrap. Run away.
