Hello.
I have a 2006 Grand Prix 3.8L with super charger.
I need to replace the battery do I need to purchase a AGM type or will a regular battery be fine??

What battery is in your car already? If it is AGM, probably good to stick with AGM. If it is regular lead acid, you can do either.
You could also check the owners manual to see what is recommended.

If the OEM battery is an AGM then stick with the AGM. The alternator and charging system has been tailored to the AGM type of battery. The owners manual usually has references to the proper battery to be installed.

Stick with the battery type that originally came with your vehicle.

@Kaizen is right. I just checked and it appears your car comes with AGM group 34 .
