Air conditioning not working properly

Scotty, I have a 2005 Cadillac CTS. The air conditioning recently stopped working properly. The air isn’t coming out of the vents where it’s supposed to, but instead only comes out from the defrost dash vents. Any idea what could be the problem?

I’ve tried moving all possible settings in the car, turning the AC on & off, etc. but it stayed stuck on the defrost dash vents. Appreciate any help. Thanks!

Is there any noises that are being made? Sounds like a bad actuator. If its a vacuum controlled blend door, you might have a vacuum leak.

@Lizard can you copy and paste your answer into the ‘Your Answer’ section down below? Thank you.

Sounds like the blend door actuators, the control actuators, or your climate control panel/ the corresponding computer is bad. Check your fuses, you might get lucky and one may have blown.

As far as I know, the vent mode selector doors on GM vehicles vacuum controlled, not electric. When they get about to your age, the vacuum lines, tanks and valves get brittle from heat and crack, leak or break.
