I live in Canada and my car goes through a lot of snow and salt. Due to that, I was wondering If coated rotors are worth the extra money compared to traditional iron rotors.

From an engineering point of view, I would say, coated/laminated rotors may provide better oil lubrication or better way to remove unwanted oil.
