I am from Canada and I have a Ford Focus 2008 S. I want to change my transmission fluid and use a fully synthetic transmission fluid. However, I am not able to get a Mercon LV fluid (as indicated in the owner's manual). Instead I could find "Motomaster Multi-Vehicle Low Viscosity ATF" and some other fluids that say Dextron VI/ Mercon LV. Can I use such fluids for my transmission? My owner's manual says "Mercon LV" as the recommended fluid. I tried searching this forum for an answers, but I could not find one. Any help would be much appreciated.

You can use any brand with the correct specs.
Ok. You mean to say I can use a fluid that says Dextron VI/ Mercon LV ??

No, I did not! I thought that they would simply ask me to use Motomaster Mercon LV. So, I thought to ask in this forum to get answer about compatibility of Dextron VI and Mercon LV. Thanks for your reply.
