Hi, I have a question about the type or / equivalent ATF fluid for my 08 Ford fusion AWD SEL 3L 6 Cyl. I’ve been trying to find the specific motorcraft A/T Fluid XT8-QAW and none of the stores in my area carry it anymore.
They only have so much till they run out.
A quick internet search for "Motorcraft XT8-QAW" finds multiple sources. It's unlikely the stuff is going to run out any time soon. Heck, you can still easily get the "Type F" transmission fluid for Fords made 60 years ago.

Don’t use aftermarket fluids in the transmission if you mix two different types of fluid it will be bad for your transmission: it can make your transmission potentially slip or have other issues. It’s best to use OEM fluid
