Hello Scotty,
I have 2017 Acura MDX awd with zf9 transmission and have 160K miles. I have always used Acura/Honda ATF 3.1 for drain and fill every 40K miles. I’m wondering if I can use any other fluid (like valvoline maxlife) safely ?

Honda transmissions have historically been weaker; therefore, I would stick with the OEM fluid.
