My 2000 Corolla with 209,000 miles still runs and drives but it has check engine light which is evap leak and fails to pass smog and gets poor gas mileage so I took it to auto repair shop, then I waited 5 hrs to get it checked and cost of repair. They wanted $3,300 to get it repaired and there's too many parts to get it replaced and my car is worth $1,000 there's no way I'll spend that amount of money on a old car but still I need it to get it repaired to pass smog since registration will be expired in 2 months and can't afford for car replacement.

Take it to another shop and get a 2nd opinion on what it needs and how much it will cost.
Am I getting ripped off ...
Look up your parts on rockauto.com, add 20% mark-up, and compare. Labour rates are $100/h and up.
my car is a money pit needs more repairs?
You car needs expected repairs for a 20yo car with 200k miles.

I guess you can't afford a car.

Do what @chucktobias recommended. Take it to another mechanic and get a second opinion.
I don’t think it’s a rip-off. It’s the cost of parts and labor to fix your car. I mean they don’t look up the market value of a vehicle and decide they won’t charge a customer over XYZ percentage value of the car.
