Hello Scotty love your channel man very informational stuff thank you hope you can help me here cus I’m about to go crazy so last jumé I got me a 2002 Honda Civic ex coupé automatic I wanted it manual but they were all beat the hell up I found this one in great shape but it was automatic so I said **** it I got it but 4 months later trans goes out put it on. Scan tool and it gave me tons of trans codes I did a bit research and saw that that year Honda auto trans was crap wish I knew that when I got it but it was what it was so I started to search for a donor to make a trans swap well one of my buddys crashed he’s same year but manual cost me 300 so I was some what happy cus that was way cheaper then getting everything separated I took everything I need it out of it and junk the donor got 150 for it so I felt much more better so I took all I needed including the ecu out did the swap but didn’t change the ecu on my car it was running good then 3 month after it started giving me issues high rpm or very low rpm then limp mode put it on the scanner still got the auto trans codes cus no auto trans but I got a tdc code p1361 which I’m gonna change but my question is do I need to change the ecu to the out trans ecu and if ido do I need to change the engine harness also

You would have to change the computer because they're different computers for standard or manual transmission

If you have a donor car, that's not a big deal.

Usually you need an ECU from a manual, on some cars you have to swap the whole network but it's not usually the case with older cars.
