Thanks. At least it's leased. My wife hates VW after this whole fiasco.  Why care about quality when you own Porsche and Audi.  I can just hear Scotty chuckling over this one.

Here is a website talking about the issue:

@razmigb
Thanks. We'll at least the car gets over 50mpg

@mrfixitman
Sorry about the troubles you're having with your Volkswagen. They're quality has really been going down hill lately. Please note that this is the AISIN transmission, not the ZF transmission I mentioned in the other post...

@razmigb
I don't know if this is relevant, Toyota put AISIN 8 Speed in the 205 + horsepower cars, and the Jetta has less than 150 hp, I am thinking that might also be the problem.

@runningman
Well according to Wikipedia, the AISIN 8 speed transmissions have maximum torque ratings of 260-350 lb*ft, which is WAY more than what the Jetta outputs (184 lb*ft). So it should be able to handle the power of the Jetta and run smoothly. It's most likely a problem on Volkswagen's side for how they installed or assembled the transmission onto their vehicles.
