2015 Camry 4cyl 2.5L FWD, 57,000 miles roughly.
Occasionally when shifting from drive to reverse (foot on the brake) I hear an audible "Click" coming from the front of the car. Not really a "clunk" as I have heard in other cars with bad transmissions... Not sure if this noise is coming from my transmission or some other component.
I sometimes try to re-create the problem by shifting again from reverse back to drive, then back to reverse again and the noise does not happen the second time.
all front end suspension and steering parts are solid and not loose or worn out.
Any advice?
Oh, the trans fluid in the car is original from the factory, I was planning on changing the fluid soon as preventative maintenance but wanted to check here first before doing so

I have a 2014 Camry, mostly driven by my wife. I will check to see if it makes that click, may be a solenoid. As to the fluid, yes, it is time. Make sure to use Toyota WS fluid, drain and refill.
I will be changing the fluid soon. does it matter if the engine is hot when changing to ATF? or should it be cold?
Doesn't matter that much. If you drain it hot or warm, let it cool off before measuring the amount that came out.
Thanks!
Update, after having just changing the fluid, the noise seems to have disappeared. drained out 2 quarts, refilled the same amount and checked the level.
thanks guys
Great! Changing (not flushing) transmission fluid can often do wonders! Well done.

With that mileage, it is unlikely that the transmission has a serous issue. Changing the fluid may resolve the issue. I think if you are worried about it, you should pinpoint the noise first and go from there.
How can I pinpoint the noise? it only happens when I'm driving and inside the car
Watch Scotty’s video on how to find the source of car noises.
Is the "click" loud and can it be felt? If it's pretty jerky when going from drive to reverse or vice versa, then I'd say there is a problem with the transmission. I'd say it's not a big problem if the whole car doesn't jerk violently when going from park to drive, park to reverse, drive to reverse, etc.
@razmigb
No no jerking whatsoever. the transmission shifts perfectly when driving. It is loud enough to notice inside the car with the windows up, but nothing can be felt
Hmm, interesting. When did you begin to notice the clicking noise?
fairly recently, maybe in the last 6 months/6,000 miles
