Ive got a budget of $3,000 Im just looking to commute 8 miles to work easily so it can be either a car, truck or suv any type doesnt matter to me.

2002 GMC Yukon XL 200,000 miles for $3,000

2005 Toyota Matrix 165,000 miles for $2,500

2007 Cadillac DTS 120,000 miles for $2,500

2006 Honda CR-V 162,000 miles for $3,000

All of these vehicles runs good.

Out of those I would go with the Matrix if it does not have the oil-burning 2.4L engine and a mechanic verifies it's in good condition. Just realize that a 19-year-old car is going to need some ongoing TLC even if in good running condition.

Matrix 100%

Matrix or crv

I'd go with Matrix and CR-V.

Cadillac are endless money pit.

Yukon has high mileage but I've seen many older Yukon's down the road still running strong.

I have a 2005 Matrix, it is a great little car. If that one is in decent shape, $2500 is not bad.

One thing to watch out for, they made a version, XRS I think, that had the yamaha 2zz-ge engine with like 180hp instead of the 1zz with around 130. That engine had a flaw, that if raced a bit could really mess it up. Scotty mentioned it in a Video if I remember correctly.

Otherwise, Matrix for sure.

Of those four, I would only consider the Matrix or the CRV. Choose the one that's in the best mechanical condition.
