[Solved] Best 2006 Toyota Matrix Tires?

Hi:

Like yourself, I happily own a Toyota Matrix XR (mine is a 2006). The tires my car came with are P195/55/R16, which I suspect is a quirky size (though they've worked great for me, especially in Winter). Do you have a recommendation for a best tire size, brand, etc.? What tires do you have mounted?

Thanks in advance for your time and attention!

Dave

I would stick to the manufacturer's tire size since your car was designed for that. If you want to drive fine in the winter, get winter tires.

Lots of good choices. Michelin premier AS, continental purecontact LS, Yokohama avid ascend GT. If you want less expensive you could order something from the Vredestein Quatrac series from Tire Rack (my daughter has the Quatrac 5 on her Crosstrek and they are great in dry, wet, and snow).
Also, that may not be the original stock size (see if your owners manual or door sticker specifies the size). If the stock size is 205/55/16, you will have even more options including the Michelin Crossclimate 2 and Pilot Sport AS4.
