Hello, I was wondering what is the best battery to use in a 2006 Ford Mustang GT. Thanks

Any of the major battery companies will work fine. I have used Interstate and Duralast and they’ve lasted me a long time. Try pricing around - all the major auto parts stores have these brands (Advance Auto Parts, Autozone, NTB, etc). The battery will also come with some type of warranty.

In the U.S. the vast majority of lead-acid car batteries are manufactured by Johnson Controls or Exide no matter what the brand is on the label. I usually buy batteries at Wal-Mart since they tend to be less expensive there and they've worked out fine.

The best batteries (not the cheapest) will be OEM

Aren't the OEM batteries just supplied by the same battery manufacturers?

Hard to say. They probably won't tell you. ACDelco did use to make their own batteries and electrical hardware. These days they probably do source it out. Either way, I find the quality of the OEM contracted stuff is very good. Even within one manufacturer, they usually have different tiers of product, right.

I’ve used Interstate the last 10 years and have no complaints regarding them.

I usually go with Interstate Batteries, which many makes use as their OEM.

Good ol Durlast would work just fine.

Even in NY?

Sure, I’ve used duralast whole life. From -70F in Alaska to 119F in Arizona and never got a defective one yet. @Zhammer223

I'm partial to Interstate Batteries.  They have distribution centers, and also have them at Costco too.

Fords brand is Motorcraft for their batteries.  I believe they both have the same manufacturer.

And Costco has a great warranty!

Scotty in some of his videos recommend to stay away from Optima battery.  Here’s another video of good tips to follow for your next battery:

I've actually had excellent luck with Optima Red Top batteries. The Yellow Tops....meh....not so much.

But I use the Red Top because most of our cars need the additional cold cranking amps. For the average vehicle, Duralast, Interstate, etc. are all good enough.

Which brand(s) do you all think makes the best car/truck batteries?

I had good experiences with MAXX Ever Start.

Batteries are a "living thing." Temperature use, affect them. Living in the artic or the desert, humid, dry, lots of loads, stock. In other words, milage may vary. AC Delco had a short life compared to Autozone for me, but thanks to Scotty, I have learned a lot. Never thought to look at the date until Scotty. Here is Scotty:
