Best used semi heavy duty pickup

Scotty,

I am looking to buy a used pickup. Unfortunately, I need one that can pull a gooseneck livestock trailer. However, I only do that about 4 times a year. Considering a non-cummins Nissan Titan XD. What do you think of those? Not sure how well a Tundra would handle a gooseneck. Would a RAM, GM or Ford truck be better than the Titan XD?

isn't it cheaper just to rent?

I have livestock, so I use a pickup all the time. Just need to pull the gooseneck occasionally to haul to market. Seems silly to own a pickup and still rent to pull a gooseneck trailer. Not many places rent pickups with gooseneck hitches.

I wouldn't buy a Nissan Truck without a Cummins Engine. The titan with the Cummins engine and Aisin transmission is way better. But IF your looking a full size truck and not the Commerical ones then I think you can Tow it on a tundra too right? I wouldn't get the new Tundras from 2022 and above because they have problems with their turbos engines failing prematurely for some reason. I would get the older Tundra's prior to 2021. I definitely wouldn't trust a GM product. I would choose Ram or ford for this.

Suprised your recommending the Cummins in the Nissan. Those seem to have very a reputation for having serious issues. I know 2 owners where the Cummins had serious failures at around 60k miles.

Hmmm that's new information to me. Then I would not recommend the Cummins engine in a Nissan Titan.
