- Hey Scotty. I have a 2008 BMW E90 320i which is leaking oil from the oil pan. I already tried replacing the gasket seal twice (one of them was an original BMW seal) but with no luck. I also tried replacing the rear main seal because it is also a common issue in BMWs as I've read. Also didn't work. Any thoughts? Thanks

If the leak is truly coming from the oil pan, ditch the stock gasket and go with FIPG. I replaced every (like metal to like metal) gasket in my BMW with Toyota FIPG and this made a notorious leaky engine leak-free.

It could be comming from the crank shaft oil seal common problem on high milage mercedes drips down and the wind catches the drip blowing it back along sump making it look like its comming from sump gasket
