Boots

Hello Scotty and everyone,

I had my tires changed recently and while I was spraying the TP205 on the rubber boots on the wheel's shafts I noticed one looked oily, pushed in and broken. I'm not sure if the metal seals are rusted and broken or what. I have attached a pic of the questionable wheel boot. What on Earth should I do?

Stay safe,

That’s the CV axle, isn’t it?

Yes, it's on the front right.

Replace both sides and do it NOW!

If dirt gets in there , you'll have way bigger problems to deal with

The other side is fine but I will replace this one.
It seems that replacing the entire axle is about the same or a little more in price than replacing the boot with grease! lol

Are there any tears or cracks on the boot?

The first pleat (in the image) seems to be cracked/torn.

I'm not sure but I believe the first pleat might be torn, the way it's pushed in.
