Hi Scotty. I live in the Tampa Florida area. Recently I have been getting ads from local dealerships offering new brake pads and disc “resurfacing” for $99. The fine print says “per axle”. What are your thoughts on resurfacing rotors vs replacement?

Please try the search. This has been answered a bunch of times. It's not worth it.

Also, for work done to your car outside of warranty period avoid dealerships at all costs.

That's a loss leader where the dealer wants to get your car into the shop to upsell you a litany of expensive and unnecessary "services". Your best bet would be to avoid dealers for non-warranty work and find a good local mechanic.
