What are some of the brands of motor oil to stay away from for doing regular oil changes?

The crap sold in dollar stores. Stick to the leading brands, or store brands known to be made by reliable manufacturers (Wal-Mart, Costco). One of the oils sold by Dollar General is only suitable for cars built before 1930.

Pennzoil. Except for that new synthetic one made from natural gas.
