I have a 2005 Toyota Matrix 5 speed with about 118,000 miles. I've been driving a lot more stop and go over the past few weeks and it feels like my clutch has been biting less aggressively than it did previously. It still goes into gear fine and shifts fine, but it feels more sluggish pulling away in 1st especially uphill. I don't think it's fully worn out yet as I have gone full throttle in 3rd and 4th and didn't feel any slippage, but I was wondering if there is any way to test for clutch wear without having to pull the transmission.
Thank you for any tips or suggestions!
Not really cuz you can't see the clutch plate without pulling the transmission apart the best test is to have it in six gear or fifth gear whatever your top gear is go about 50 and then floor see if it slips if the tech resident doesn't take off or it accelerates normal
If at this point, you are experiencing any symptoms at all, you can be pretty sure that your clutch disc is about worn out.
