My 2015 Buick Enclave needs the transmission replaced for $7k. Why did this transmission fail? No towing or hard driving. Only normal. When it's fixed should I sell it and get a ...?

Transmissions wear out. That's it. Your run-of-the-mill, American automatic transmission wears out before it should. You need a high functioning scan tool that utilizes bidirectional testing in order to properly diagnose your fault. Did you ever change your fluids? If you didn't, and it's getting over 120k miles (you didn't mention mileage), you prematurely wore out your transmission. It's not lifetime fluid. It's designed to last 60,000 miles, which is 5 years on normal driving.
