Hi Scotty,
I’m looking at buying a crossover. I know you’d prefer a CRV or RAV4, but I really like the Mazda CX-5 or the Hyundai Tucson. Mazda is a 2018 with 42k miles. Hyundai is 2018 with 35k miles. Which one would be the safer bet?
The Mazda CX-5, if/after a professional mechanic thoroughly checks it out and gives you the go ahead, before purchase.
Mazda by far.
no comparison, buy the Mazda. If you want your engine to blow up and burst into flames on the highway, buy the Hyundai.
If both check out good by a mechanic, I would go Mazda all the way. Don't buy a Hyundai Tucson, since they are rolling piles of junk. Heck, I would rather buy a Rogue over the Tucson, that's how bad they are.
Mazda, not even close
CX-5. I’ve had two friends them. They loved them. One had the previous generation. The other has the current generation. I am very impressed with Mazda’s build quality, especially the interior. Dare I say the build quality is better than both Toyota and Honda.
I would go for a RAV4 myself, but the new redesigned 2022 Tucson is really nice and shouldn't have the problems plagued by the earlier models. I have a client that just bought a 2022 Tucson and she loves it more than the 2017 Santa Fe Sport that she had prior.
How do you know it won’t have any problems plagued by the earlier models?
