Hey scotty, i have 2 questions
i am trying to buy a 04 rx330 with 350k miles. Transmission has been replaced and rides smooth. I test drove the car and i hear roaring sounds when i make a turn. Does this mean that thiers a problem with the cv axle or i need new brake pads?
2nd question is
Too old with way too many miles. I would pass.
the answer is do not buy that old junk, axles and shafts are impossible
I wouldn't buy it unless I had a relative that owned a junk yard.
God, what a piece of crap you are looking at. It's life is finished, buddy. I don't car if they replaced the engine on the car, the rx330 is a big complex machine and all of those parts being 18 years old and having all that mileage would just make an endless money pit for you. The money it takes to fix this car is way more than the car is actually worth. Maybe I would sell the car for parts and sell the transmission on it and make some money that way, but I highly advise you to stay away from it being your daily driver.
The elephant in the room is the fact that it has 350,000 miles. Hopefully this won’t be your daily driver, but even if it was not you most likely would have to sink more money to get it running the way you want. I don’t think it’s worth pursuing that very high mileage vehicle - who knows what kind of previous ownership history it has had that may impact how much life it has left (it could be near the end of its useful life).
