hey scotty, I'm looking to buying a nissan suv which one do you think will be the best for a 3 person family? I'm looking for something without a cvt but it's not that important, I just want a v6 or a v8 in an suv, something not a honda or a toyota please.
nissan suv
Why? Nissan is a crappy brand that sells crappy overpriced cars.
Is there any particular reason you want an unreliable SUV made by Renault/Mitsubishi?
(since that’s what Nissan is nowadays)
The pathfinder has a horrid 9 speed developed for Fiat, the Murano only has a Jatco CVT and it has aged terrible,
And the "popular" Nissan model, the Rouge is not even a Nissan it's a badge engineered Renualt Koleos the SUV version of the Renualt Megane - it's identical to the Mitsubishi Outlander and adding insult to injury it's a Jatco CVT.
If If you want to pay for a CVT transmission in a few years,
and have the most lack luster driving experience and worst resale value of any Japanese suv -
all of their models are the same.

The only other reasonably well built alternative is Subaru, better than a lot of Hondas.
No V6 on these, some older ones have a H6 but buying a used car in todays market is not a good idea,
and they really weren't great at all...
The Outback 3.6L has a 0-60 of 7.2 seconds, the RAV4 hybrid 4cyl does it in 7.4 without tearing its CVT apart.
my mom and dad wants a nissan, I see scotty say that the titans and the pathfinders are good.
The pathfinder was updated in 2021, and the Titan in 2020 - they're not their old selfs.
The Titan might be decent but the Pathfinder is definitely a pile of trash.
Dan, you mention “The only other reasonably well built alternative is Subaru, better than a lot of Hondas.”
.
What about the Mazda CUVs? (Of course ignoring the 2.5L engines with cylinder deactivation)
@DayWalker Yes new Mazdas are good, but OP asked for 6 or 8 cylinders...

Consider Lexus or Acura.

I personally would not buy a Nissan SUV because the quality is not there for me.
I just want a v6 or a v8
If you really want a Nissan SUV that has everything, look at the Nissan Armada. It has a V8 engine and room enough for everyone. Just remember that you will not get the best fuel economy.
