Best V6 4WD SUV (new) ?

I have a 2017 Ford Explorer V6 4WD 3.5L eco boost (Sport 401A), low miles, and looking to buy a new SUV. I’ve never had mechanical or electrical issues with my Explorer.

I’ve looked at Toyota but not too keen on 4 cyclinder.

4Runner is likely your best option for a comparable SUV to an explorer.

I would certainly drive it a bit first, the 5th gens lost a bit of their comfort, and I hear they drive a bit more like a truck than the 4th gens. Overall they are excellent vehicles, and the current generation has been around since 2010, that shows that people still love them. The 4.0 V6 has been around a long time, and is a great engine.

4Runners are known for reliability, and easily go 300k+ with decent maintenance.

For such short period of ownership it practically does not matter what you get. And on new cars noone knows how long will they hold.

True. But knowing Scotty isn’t too keen on eco boost engine what engine should I look for that’s V6?

Normal aspirated engines are still the best. I don't know how is it in America, but here in Europe car makers phase some of them out with every new generation of models and replace them with turbocharged ones or hybrids.
