Buying a used car for export

What is the best way to find an honest mechanic like you in the U.S. from abroad? I would like to buy a used car to export to Greenland.

Also I have noticed that RAV4's sold in Europe are made in Russia, does anyone know the quality of RAV4 4WD or AWD made in Russia?

Do you want a new or used one? If new, I suggest get an american RAV4 if you plan to keep it as long as possible. Most Toyota's petrol engines last about 200k to 300k km. According to what Scotty says, Toyotas in America can go over 300k miles. Perhaps @dan knows more about them.

Good luck!

Thanks for letting me of this question.
I wouldn’t personally buy a Russian made car, all Toyota models from where I live are either built under the PSA-Toyota partnership or are built in Japan.
Russian build quality is always questionable, I remember Renault had a lot of rust issues on the Russian make but not on the Turkish one.

Thanks for the replies, i appreciate your help.

Good luck but I assume things cost a fortune there and they probably have import taxes but watch my video how to find a good mechanic Scotty on YouTube

Thank you Scotty there is 8150$ import tax if the car is worth under 8150$, if the car is worth between 8.150-25.000$ it has 100% import tax and if the car is worth over 25.000$ it will have 125% import tax. We have to include the shipping and handling cost in the cars value too.

Ouch. So, if a car is worth 15000, you pay at least 30000 for it?

If I paid 15000 at the dealer I have to pay another 15000 in taxes, and around 8000 in shipping depending on the size and weigth
