Hi Scotty, my son really wants to buy a used Celica, and knowing how much you love yours, can you recommend one to look out for?  I'm curious as to what types of issues they have that are common and how to inspect one.  I would rather he purchased something newer but he likes the older models 1990's to early 2000's (I guess, I don't know anything about them.  He has a 2005 Avalon which is a great car but he has always loved the Celica.  Thanks in advance for your time...Love your vids, they have helped me so many times Hahaha!

The Celicas that were made before 2000 were decent. The last generation Celicas were alright but they don't really hold up as well as the older generations of those vehicles do. Main reason I say that is because they're not as well built and knowing it's Yamaha designed 1.8L engine with 180 horses, the chance of getting one like that in great condition and taken care of religiously by it's previous owner would be very slim. So my advice is to get one that's not the last generation of that particular vehicle if you can. They're not easy to find apparently. But if you dig deep, have a mechanic check it out and if it's alright, snap it up!
