Can high octane fuel, because of its anti-knock ability, increase the time period between needed valve adjustment in Honda
in theory ?
regardless of the price of the overall fuel compared to the adjustment service.
thank you
No.. fuel octane rating has nothing to do with valve lash and the period it goes before adjustment is needed. The miles on the engine and age are the main factor overall.
Huh? Why would fuel octane have an effect on valve adjustment? I'm trying to make sense of that but nothing happens.
I don’t know much beyond the usual maintenance stuff…
I was wondering if valve clearance was affected by ‘engine knock’ and was sucked into the octane discussions.
Thanks
No problem, but I've never heard of that having any effect. If anyone else has they can chime in!
