Buying a Used Lexus rx330

Hi Scotty and Friends,

I found an awesome deal for a 2004 Lexus RX330 with 74500k miles for $5k today only otherwise $7450. Cracked dash and apparently everything else works 100%. It is about a 6-8hr drive from me in Boston, Ma to the car in Philly, so I will most likely have to check this one out on my own.

My questions are....

One, does this sound like a good deal? I am looking for a dependable low road-noise SUV for the next year or two, so I am looking in the way of Lexus.

Two, if I get a scanner and do the normal stuff that I do when I check out cars like, rust uncarrage check, shifting check, driving, etc.

Three, would I be better off trying to find a Rx350 with a little bit higher miles and a little bit more money around $8k?

Thank you and I look forward to your reply,

Pete

Maybe it's just me, but "today only" is a red flag for me. How come the dash is cracked - that's something you rarely see in a Lexus of recent vintage.

No that is a very common issue with those year of Lexus: https://www.carcomplaints.com/Lexus/RX_350/2007/

yeah I don't fall for the "today only" hook either. That's so sleazy.
