I have found a 2006 Honda CR-V with 166K miles on it. It's from a private party who is owing the car since its day 1. He said the car doesn’t have any accident history or any damage. It's a car in Minnesota & the owner is asking for $6000, which is fixed price. It has some scraches and rust (Midwest car). Should I buy the car?
I live 5 hours away from the place of the car's owner. I have to decide well before going for a test drive since it's gonna be a long journey.

What are your options in your area/town?
Rust is a massive red flag..
What kind of rust? Just surface rust or does it have holes in the chassis?
Do you have pictures of it?
Personally, I’d pass..
