Morning Scotty, I have a Cadillac SRX 2011 with a 3.0 engine. I recently discovered the transmission is leaking fluid from the bellhousing. Should I repair this or replace the trims?
Clarification: mileage?
That can be a symptom of the torque converter seal gone bad. Take a closer look though to make sure it's not actually dripping from cooler lines adjacent to the bell housing which would be a more common failure point. (I don't know what the "trims" are.)
I meant to say trans. Thanks for the reply.
I did not know
That's why we put "READ THIS FIRST" at the very top of the main page.
{black}:idontknow:
it needs new shaft seals (and possibly more)
I already replace the shaft seals before installing the transmission.
well since you don't feel like sharing the full story , and just want to let us guess ... good luck!
Sorry for leaving that part out.
Hi Scotty. I have a Cadillac SRX 2011 with a 3.0 engine FWD. the transmission is leaking fluid so I took the Cadillac to a transmission shop and they said the leak seems to be coming from the ball-housing. Is this something that can be repaired instead of replacing the whole transmission? Please answer as soon as possible. Thank you.
Sorry I did not know that I could not repeat the question to get more answers.
It doesn't work that way. There's no reason that posting the same thing multiple times would get any more answers than the first time, all it accomplishes is making the problem and answers more difficult to follow.
If you want to bump your original question further up to the top of the page all you need to do is add something to the thread yourself.
Scotty picks and chooses which topics he'll either answer here or in his videos, he cannot answer them all. If you want to try contacting him directly instructions for doing so are in the FAQ.
Thanks for the information.
