Camry LE 2013 Rear Shock Absorber Sound

Hello,

I have a Toyota Camry 2013 LE Automatic at 101,000 mileage. Recently I noticed the rear right wheel shock absorber has dark greasy coating & dust is clinging on to it. I also notice when I drive over speed humps at our apartment complex or exit the ramp on towards the main road , I notice & hear a loud thudding or say thumping sound coming from the rear right hand wheel area.

Is the rear right hand shock absorber leaking? If yes, does it need replacement now? Do we have to replace them in pairs? I am not commuting 30 miles each way to work sue to the pandemic so do we have to replace both rear shock absorbers if needed?

If we have to replace the rear right hand side shock absorber what brand would you strongly recommend?

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Thank you.

Yours Truly,

Elmer Paquiz

It’s a good idea to replace them in pairs. However, at a pinch, you can replace just the one that’s leaking. Use good quality KYB Excel-G replacement parts for your Camry.
